So you want to get into photography do you? Well, first off I’m happy to hear that and am glad to tell you personally that photography is a fantastic gateway into the soul and simply into your inner artistic side. Taking photos of the world around you can uplift your spirit and revitalize your life in a way that you will not understand until you truly start taking photographs yourself.

But for those of you who are new to photography, how can you elevate yourself from the basic Social Media person who only focuses on selfies, to one truly dedicated to the art of photography that has been around long before social media? To be honest, a lot of people take the wrong approach when learning about photography. The key should always be about going out and taking photos for yourself and learning through experience. I personally found that to be the best method when I was first getting into photography, and luckily for you, I’ve used this site to lay out some key styles of photography to help you learn through experience as well. And I’ve listed them in a specific order that I feel will truly help you to progress from a basic photographer to one who truly can appreciate the finer things in life as a result of their photography skills.

To use my site to learn about photography from start to finish, I am advising the following plan: Every week, only focus on one type of photography, starting with the first article on my site. Do not move ahead of the program and whether or not you are taking plenty of photos or only have a couple of opportunities to snap some shots, make sure to wait the full week out. Then the following week move on to the next type of photo on my list. Again, make sure to start with my first article and move progressively in order.

Once you’ve gone through the entire list, it will have been a few weeks and you should be well-versed in all sorts of photography forms. At this point, you can go back and re-focus on any one particular type of photography that you want to try and master further. But you should do your best to stick with it for at least a week all the same. Over time, the one week guideline becomes less and less important as you begin to master each form of photography. And eventually, you should be well versed in all forms of photography, and more are less are a legitimate photography enthusiast. Ideally this entire process will take a few months only, but there is always the possibility that it takes longer, or even shorter in some cases. The key here is to always self-assess yourself and always see where you need more work or simply more experience. With time, I am confident that you will eventually become a proven photographer who can take amazing photos in a wide range of styles.

Note that this site isn’t necessarily to teach you the best photography skills from a technical point of view, but rather to introduce you to natural photography subjects that will get your creative juices flowing in the right direction. This site, when used in conjunction with other resources to teach you the technical aspects of photography will yield the best results, so please keep that in mind moving forward. Having said that though, using just this site alone and progressing through the various photo types as mentioned above will still yield great results, and you can potentially learn everything you need to know simply by going out and doing it.

Also note that despite my best attempts to cover all of the latest and greatest photography styles, the truth of the matter is that I will never be able to cover everything, especially considering that photography is an always changing art form with new and exciting styles and techniques arising all the time. The styles mentioned in my site do however provide a solid groundwork that will set you on the right path, no matter how much photography changes in the future.

I hope this site helps you to have as much love and joy for the art of photography as it does for me. Thanks for reading.
